Attractions

The area offers many summer and winter recreational activities. The nearby Maple River is a well-known trout stream, offering anglers fun and challenge. The high hills in the surrounding area contain several of the best ski resorts in the state, including The Highland of Boyne USA, and Nubs Nob. Also, the many railroad grades that came to Pellston in the early 1900’s serving the lumber mills are now some the longest and best snowmobile trails in all of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, allowing rider’s to go from Mackinaw City to Harbor Springs and beyond. There are also several popular golf courses in the area.
